What is the Euro STOXX 50?

Euro STOXX 50 is a capitalization-weighted index of 50 European Blue-chips. The Euro STOXX 50 covers 12 of the Eurozone countries: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.

The Euro STOXX 50 captures approximately 60% of the free float market capitalization of the Dow Jones EURO STOXX® Total Market Index, which in turn covers approximately 95% of the free float market capitalization of the represented countries. The DJ EURO STOXX 50® index is a price return index.

What are the contract specifications for the Euro STOXX 50?

  • Symbol: FESX
  • Contract Value: 1 point = 10 Euros
  • EURUSD exchange rate is currently 1.35
  • 10 Euros x 1.35 = $13.50 USD per point
  • Moves in 1 point increments (10 Euros)
  • Contract Months: Quarterly like ES, YM: March, June, September and December
  • Trading Hours: 12:50 AM to 3:00 PM Central
